CLARITY Act Urgently Needed
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has urged the US Congress to urgently pass the CLARITY Act, the first comprehensive regulation of the cryptocurrency industry.
The bill, which was expected to be passed this month, has been stalled in the Senate due to disputes over stablecoin returns and incentives.
Armstrong, who previously expressed concerns about the bill, said that after months of negotiations, the law is now “strong enough” to be supported. He stressed that the regulation is essential to ensuring the long-term growth and legitimacy of the digital asset industry.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent also supported the swift passage of the law, stressing that regulatory clarity is a strategic step that will not only strengthen market stability but also keep crypto innovation in the US.
