A young man has recently successfully recovered five Bitcoins, worth nearly $400,000, from a crypto wallet he had lost access to for over a decade.
He bought the Bitcoins in 2015 as a student, but while drunk, he accidentally changed the password to his wallet and completely forgot it.
After years of trying various password recovery programs and hacking methods to no avail, he turned to Claude AI as his last hope. The student fed the AI all of his old computer files, notes, and backup folders, and Claude was able to locate the password recovery file and help him find the code.
The story quickly went viral, with many people joking that it may have been his “most profitable financial mistake” otherwise, he would have sold his Bitcoins while they were still cheap.
