Donald Trump has extended the ceasefire period
U.S. President Donald Trump officially announced this morning that he has extended the ceasefire agreement with Iran for an indefinite period.
He explained that the extension is intended to give Iran’s government time to reach internal consensus on the terms of a peace deal, noting that there are “serious divisions” within its leadership. Trump also stated that the U.S. naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz will remain in place, and emphasized that the U.S. is prepared to resume military operations if negotiations fail.
Analysts view this as a pressure tactic by Trump toward Iran, while the continued blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is maintaining significant economic pressure on the country.
Meanwhile, Brent Crude Oil prices are fluctuating at around $98 per barrel. Global financial markets remain relatively stable, while the cryptocurrency market is beginning to show a positive upward trend.
